It all began in 2010, somewhere in Fourways when Anele spotted Sav and decided she was someone worth knowing. With full confidence and charm (or so he thought), he gave it his best shot to sweep her off her feet. The result? A swift and graceful entrance… into the friend zone.

Over the next few years, a strong friendship blossomed, built on shared laughs, endless conversations, and the kind of connection that only comes when you're not trying too hard to impress someone. Fast forward to 2014, when they started “studying”, let’s be honest, doing a bit more partying than studying and something shifted. Maybe it was the late-night laughs, watching Lion King on repeat or the Uncle Fauzi runs, but suddenly the sparks were undeniable. By the end of the year, they officially became Nele and Sav. Since then, life has been a beautiful adventure. Together, they've travelled far and wide and taken spontaneous road trips all over the country where Anele always forgets to pack something important but makes up for it by belting out Disney classics like he is at a concert.

In September 2024, after 10 years of Anele’s basic army training, he popped the question in the most perfect setting imaginable… on the grass in front of the Eiffel Tower, just as the lights began to flicker and buskers played their song (coincidently, but Anele tried to claim he planned it). Yes, it was romantic. Yes, it was cheesy. And yes, it was so Sav! Anele may joke around, but when it matters, he knows exactly how to be a bear (as Sav calls him). After the rush of Paris, they went to one of Sav’s dream destinations – CHAMPAGNE! Tastings at their favourite Champagne houses, walks along cobble stone pathways and dinners in quaint corner café’s. It was a dream and the perfect way to celebrate their engagement. They brought back a unique bottle from their tasting at Moët & Chandon to enjoy while taking their engagement pictures. They came home and celebrated with friends and family. Oh and adopted a ginger cat named Cupcake.

Through the highs and the lows, they've remained each other’s greatest cheerleaders, go-to joke testers (they have established that Sav is the funny one) and most trusted co-pilots in life. They're not just a couple, they’re best friends who chose to build something real and lasting. They can't wait to celebrate it with all the people close to their hearts who’ve been part of their journey so far.
