In January 2015, two worlds collided in an unexpected way. Michelle, a popular Grade 9 netball player, and Lance, a well-known matric boy, had never crossed paths—until a simple BBM message led to a connection that would change their lives. Their first conversation began with a casual, “Hey, do I know you?” and quickly blossomed into a friendship filled with playful banter and growing affection. They exchanged shy smiles in the school corridors, hinting at something more.
 

On October 5, 2015, after months of getting to know each other, playful banter and growing affection, they took the leap and officially started dating. Their young love blossomed, transforming their high school experiences into a shared adventure filled with endless laughter, late-night chats, and dreams of the future.

Michelle moved to Stellenbosch to pursue her studies in education, while Lance embarked on a thrilling journey in the world of yachting. The distance was daunting, but their love only grew stronger. They learned to navigate late-night video calls, surprise care packages, and the bittersweet anticipation of their visits. Each reunion felt like a celebration, a reminder that their hearts were always connected despite the miles that separated them.

Four years passed, filled with both struggles and triumphs, until they finally had the chance to start their journey together on the yachts. It was a dream come true—traveling the world side by side, sharing sunsets and adventures on the open sea.

On a breathtaking day at the stunning Bakoven rocks in Camps Bay, with the waves crashing against the shore and the sun dipping low in the sky, Lance got down on one knee, pulling out a ring that sparkled like their love. “Michelle,” he said, his voice filled with emotion, “You don’t have to wait till your old and grey, will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
