Cindy and Henry first met in 2016. Wind softly blowing through the high lush trees, autumn leaves falling here and there, next to a small brick church, this is where Cindy first caught Henry’s eye.

Together with friends they remained acquaintances, drinking a coffee here and there, they got to know each other. Henry was set in his ways, confirming “This will be my wife one day!”

​

Although Henry moved abroad, 6497.74 kilometres (to be exact) from South Africa for work and Cindy went off on her so-called life adventure journey, little did she know that Henry will be her forever home.

​

Months has passed, December 2016 Cindy just could not stop thinking about Henry and how he made those special moments count when they saw each other. Reaching out on FB messenger, she finally got his number and connected on what’s app. During this time, they chatted the days and nights away online. Almost like the romantic “You’ve got mail” movie.

​

Henry asked Cindy on a getaway first date to Margate, KZN in June 2017. Henry packed a cooler bag and fashion magazines for Cindy to browse on the road trip. They made special memories: “braai-broodjies” on the beach and Zip lining through the Oribi Gorge 4.5 km (Longest Zip Line Tour in Africa) and started their adventure together as a couple. By now Cindy knew: “This man is my keeper”

January 2018 Henry took Cindy on another adventure to Sodwana Bay, KZN north coast, between St.Lucia and Lake Sibhayi. With rustic Nature’s surroundings, covered with simplistic natural beauty, chafe of the small rocks, against the boulders on the beach; and where the ocean meets, smooth and round colourful pebbles form, and so did their commitment to love each other forever.

Three years long distant, sad good-beys and long times apart… but they were forever in each other hearts.  

​

June 2019, On the tropical Island of Zanzibar, Henry was nervous but excited, he dropped on one knee and popped the big question: “Will you marry me, Cindy?”

​

Engaged to the man of her dreams, Cindy packed her bags and moved to Saudi Arabia to be with Henry. Together carrying sand bags for four years they finally decided to get married!

​

Cindy and Henry can’t wait to celebrate the wedding day with their family and friends on 22 July 2023.
